Planting a Field of Loving Kindness

Spring is the time of new beginnings,  renewal, hope, and planting.   We are undergoing great change and healing right now on our planet. With all the fear, negativity, panic, uncertainty in the daily news, and even more so now with the COVID-19 pandemic drastically changing our lives and the way we live,  it’s easy to be discouraged and forget about the kind, caring, loving world we live in. Now more than ever we need to remember and plant-loving acts of kindness and compassion for ourselves and others and cultivate the world we want to live in.

Acts of loving-kindness such as reaching out to others via phone, text message or video during this time to check-in on them see how they are doing,  sending a card in the mail, singing from the balconies like those in Italy, making face masks for those in need and the essential workers working on the front lines, practicing social distancing and only purchasing what you need are some acts of kindness you practice now.

I am so grateful for the countless people in my life that subtly and boldly help me plant and nourish my field of dreams on a daily basis from my family, friends, teachers, to complete strangers with their loving kindness. In my piece, ” Planting the Fields of Dreams”, published in Goodness Abounds, I share the generosity of a friend of mine nourishing my decision to go back to school.

Planting the Field of Dreams

by Isabella Rose

My passion for living an all-natural lifestyle began in my early 20s, when I saw a nutritionist, began reading books by Elson Haas, and participated in a weekly yoga class. Several years later, I started reading books on aromatherapy and was introduced to Reiki. In my mid-30s, I wanted to become more involved in the alternative-health field and, although I still had many doubts, I started to consider a career in it. I became Reiki-I certified and began attending occasional meditation classes. As I started learning more about myself and connecting to my soul, the Angelic realm, and my spirituality, I decided I wanted to go back to school.

I shared with a close friend of mine that I was taking aromatherapy classes at an online career school. Michael was happy to hear this and said, “It sounds like it is up and coming in the health and wellness field.” He also offered to pay for my classes. I was stunned! I thanked him but declined. I was already enrolled in a payment plan, and I felt uncomfortable accepting such a generous offer. No one had ever invested in me or my future like this before. I wondered how I would ever repay him or show my gratitude and appreciation? With further conversation, however, I graciously accepted the offer and agreed to complete the program and get good grades (which I did).

I took Angel-meditation and aromatherapy classes while continuing to study other holistic-health modalities independently. Again, Michael offered to help with my education, this time paying for half of one of my Angel Messenger courses. As I progressed further in my studies, we started talking about my plans for the future and what I wanted to do with my certification once I completed it. He shared with me his vision and hopes to one day see me with my own storefront and product line. This vision is already coming true, as I’m just starting to make my aromatherapy products available to others, am in the process of earning my Doctorate of Natural Medicine degree, and plan on opening a healing center in the future.

I see now that all these were seeds planting my field of dreams…and nurtured by a special, generous friend who always believed in me.

“Planting the Field of Dreams” was first published in the bestselling collaborative book, Goodness Abounds: 365 True Stories of Loving Kindness [DandiLove, 2017).

I have been and continue to be blessed with an abundance of nourishment to turn these seeds and the seeds of some of my childhood dreams such as becoming a published author,  artist, holistic health practitioner, and guide so that I may be of service and help others heal and turn into blossoming flowers also.  I am often touched and inspired by the many people who are willing to help me succeed whether it be words of encouragement, giving feedback, or a helping hand. These loving acts of kindness I receive on a daily basis gives me hope and faith that there are caring, kind, and compassionate people in this world like me who want to have a positive impact and make a difference in people’s lives. Let’s continue planting a field of loving-kindness.

What seeds are planted in your field of dreams? What is one small action step that you can take today to nurture and nourish these seedlings into buds? What is one small act of kindness that you can do today to help someone else?

Trust and Follow Your Inner Guidance

Every day there are soulful messages to be found to guide us along our way. These messages can be found in nature, within our body, conversations with others, the other side and from the Divine.   I am honored to share five soulful messages I have received in 365 Soulful Messages: the Right Guidance at the Right Time, the fifth and final volume in the bestselling 365 Book Series.

Self-care is so important and oftentimes overlooked for umpteen reasons even when our bodies are screaming out to us to listen.  It is that busy time of year with added holiday hustle and bustle, I thought I would share one of my pieces on the importance of self-care and slowing down.  I was ignoring all the signs my body was giving me but the Universe kept getting my attention in various ways until I finally listened and followed the guidance being given me to me.

Trust and Follow Your Inner Guidance

by Isabella Rose

“God, Goddess, Angels, Matt, Universe, please take everything from me. Please clear my plate. I am exhausted and can’t keep doing everything by myself anymore. It just isn’t humanly possible. I know that my life wasn’t saved in the car accident to live like this…” I prayed one night and continued to surrender my worries and fears. I had finally had enough and knew there had to be a better way.

For two years after a car accident and the tragic loss of my fiancé two months later, I had been trying to do everything by myself. Although I had made improvements in slowing down and listening to my body – remembering the importance of self-care and the reminders of my friend Jodi, “to be gentle with yourself” – I was stuck in the constant cycle of doing and pushing myself forward until I couldn’t anymore. I had a hard time letting go of guilt and thoughts of what I “needed” to do. I also struggled with sticking to my boundaries and saying no to the demands and expectations others placed on me.

I was hearing my body, mind, and spirit screaming out for rest to rebalance and restore; however, I wasn’t following this wise guidance. I was even aware of the signs the Universe was giving me to rest, but I ignored those, too. I have too much to do, I argued. I don’t have time to rest.

The morning after I prayed, the angels and my higher self continued to get my attention through oracle cards and my daily creativity practice. I had drawn the Rest card and, later in the day, the Retreat card from a different oracle deck. The message became even more loud and clear when I tuned in to the message of my artwork through automatic writing: “TRUST! Trust your inner guidance! REST, rest, rest. Retreat and rejuvenate. All is in order. Everything is the way it is supposed to be. Trust divine order. Trust the process! You are safe. You are loved. All is well. Rest.”

Finally, I got the message – and finally, I listened.

What message(s) is your body telling you? Tune and really listen to what it is telling you and follow your inner guidance, your internal compass, your north star. Do you need to slow down? Do you have a ache or pain somewhere in your body? Are you hungry?  What is your favorite self-care practice? Please share in the comments below.

Remember to take some time for you each day to practice self-care even if it is just five or ten minutes  for deep breathing, mediation or reading a page in a book. It is essential to our overall health and well-being.

My daily art journal entry mentioned in my piece Trust and Follow Your Inner Guidance published in 365 Soulful Messages: the Right Guidance at the Right Time.

A Dare to Follow My Heart

It’s hard to believe that Tuesday, 365 Soulful Messages: the Right Guidance at the Right Time, the fifth and final volume of the 365 Book Series was released! It seems just like yesterday, I wrote and submitted my first three pieces to Jodi and Dan for 365 Moments of Grace, the second volume in the 365 Book Series. Now four years later,  I have written and submitted my final five pieces published in 365 Soulful Messages: the Right Guidance at the Right Time

Becoming a contributing author to the 365 Book series has been such a big part of my life and something I looked forward to each year since I accepted a dare to myself to follow my heart, my intuition, and Divine guidance to make one of my childhood dreams true.  It was the beginning of my writing career, creating life-long friendships and so much more!

I am so grateful for Jodi and Dan following their own hearts and soulful messages that led to the creation of the 365 Book Series and all the goodness they have brought to my life through the book series.

I would like to share one of one my pieces with you in the hopes that it will inspire you to follow your own heart towards making your dreams come true too!

A Dare to Follow My Heart

by Isabella Rose

My heart cried out with joy as soon as I saw the Facebook ad to become a contributing author, but my ego mind quickly took over with false belief systems programmed into my mind since early childhood: “You can’t do this. You aren’t good enough. No one is going want to read what you wrote.” But I somehow summoned up enough courage to follow my heart, intuition, and divine guidance and reached out to Jodi about my interest in contributing to the 365 Moments of Grace book. It was a dare to myself, as deep down I truly didn’t believe they would respond, never mind be interested in publishing my writing.

They did respond! I was so surprised when I eagerly checked my email and saw she was interested in my ideas about what I would like to write about and would love to have me join as a contributing author. But then I started to second-guess myself as my self-doubt and self-sabotaging mechanisms began kicking in. “Now what I am going to do?” I thought as I began making up excuses as to why I couldn’t do it: “I can’t afford it, I don’t know how to write, I will never be able to meet the word-count requirement, and no one will like my pieces.”

Despite all these false belief systems, excuses, and doubts, I did it! I accepted that dare to myself and signed up to be a contributing author. I am so glad I did. It was the beginning of my writing career and making many more of my dreams come true. I continued as a contributing author to the 365 Book Series, stepping more and more out of my comfort zone with the love and support of Jodi, Dan, and our 365 author community, growing and expanding with each one.

Now I am about to publish my first two solo books. I didn’t realize at that time just how much that dare to follow my heart would change my life.

You can read this piece along with 364 more soulful messages (including my other four pieces) in the book, 365 Soulful Messages: the Right Guidance at the Right Time.  Our book has over 200 authors who have come together to share our hearts and souls in this inspirational and uplifting book created by Jodi Chapman and Dan Teck.  You can purchase your copy on Amazon here.

I invite you to take a few moments to yourself to quiet your mind and connect to your heart and your soul. Tune in and really listen to what they have to say to you. What makes your heart sing out in joy? What dreams do you want to make come true?  What is holding you back from making them come true? What steps can you start taking towards make those dreams come true?  After you have received your message, take an inspired action step today towards making them come true. What are you waiting for? I dare you to make your dreams come true too!

the Healing Power of Love

The Healing Power of Love

Right around Christmas time 2014, I asked my late aunt and the Universe to give me the courage and strength I needed to learn to love myself and take my power back from those whom I had allowed to control or hurt me. A few weeks later, I set that as my full-moon intention; and so began my healing journey of body, mind, and spirit to break the cycle of trauma and abuse that ran throughout my ancestral lines for generations.

Over the next 22 months, I would change the way I viewed myself and the world around me and take the biggest risk I have ever made: to allow love into my heart.

I slowly learned to love, accept, and approve of ALL of me – both the light and dark aspects of myself and my past. As I did, I began shedding the layers of masks I wore, and the fortress of protection I had spent a lifetime building around my heart began to crumble away. I had worn these as shields to prevent myself from feeling the continual hurt, judgment, repeated abandonment, disappointment, and betrayal by loved ones from happening again and again.

With the love, support, encouragement, wisdom, and guidance of my sisterhoods and the man who would break open my heart to allow love in, I replaced the outdated false belief systems – that I am not lovable, good enough, worthy, or deserving of good things – with the knowing that I AM.

I saw that I had the same beauty inside and outside of myself that I saw in others and nature. I was no longer afraid to share my rawness, vulnerabilities, and Truth (my divine and authentic Truth rather than the truth of the false belief systems I once perceived to be true). As I began trusting more in myself, intuition, and divine guidance, I gained confidence and began feeling more comfortable sharing my spiritual gifts and talents, which I had kept locked inside since early childhood. With the healing power of love, I began to make my childhood dreams become a reality.
